Dear co-cultural institutution / culturally interested individual,
In a short space of time, the gallery, Mingles Calypsus / Neue Froth Kunsthalle / and its celebrated variations, through a consistently nomadic and abberrant approach to its own thoughtfully self initiated art scene, has come to be recognised in London and elsewhere as the only Contemporary Art gallery in Brighton. Please help us celebrate and join us at our next show (Saturday 16th March, 5-8pm), the last in a series of three shows curated by Hotel Swirly-Whirly, to see works by Edward Lipski (The Approach), Neil Tait (White Cube), Tim Stoner (prev. Alison Jacques Gallery and The Approach), Kate Lyddon, Geraldine Swayne, Daniel Yáñez González and much more besides. Invitation attached. Saturday at 5-8pm. Look forward to meeting you there. Sincerely, Alex Bowen Director, Neue Froth Kunsthalle. www.neuefrothkunsthalle.com |

The aberrant and nomadic contemporary commercial art gallery, Neue Froth Kunsthalle will be hosting the second in its series of three seminal exhibitions running throughout January, February and March 2013. The exhibitions, each titled ‘****’, are to include works by a list of high profile contemporary artists. Dan Coombs (The Fine Art Society), Phyllida Barlow (Hauser & Wirth), Chantal Joffe (Victoria Miro), Tim Stoner (prev.Alison Jacques & The Approach), Neal Tait (White Cube), Geraldine Swayne (FRED Gallery), Edward Lipski (The Approach), Caroline Achaintre (Arcade Fine Art) and Christopher Stevens (Mummery + Schnelle, London). Most of whom have works within The Saatchi and Deutsche Bank collections. Titled ‘****’, the second of these exhibitions is to open on February 16th 2013 and will run until March 3rd. It is described by its co-curators as being: ‘Weird.’ The exhibitions are the product of a unique collaborative curatorial exchange, between London based artist Kate Lyddon and gallery director, Alex Bowen. Under the formation and direction of Alex Bowen, Neue Froth Kunsthalle quickly developed a reputation as the only relevant gallery in Brighton to experience contemporary art. Representing both London and Brighton based artists (Marcus Cope, Max Gimson and Daniel Yáñez González), openings to the gallery exhibitions gained notoriety for their experiential approach to viewing, with emphasis on audience and event as much as the works on display. ‘It’s more like a network, made visible through people and objects. Something like a network of tramps. One knows where the supermarket puts out the sandwiches, another the fruit….somehow that comes together, all those things, and makes some other thing in the world. That’s what the gallery is.’ Alex Bowen, gallery director. |

We will definitely grow a stable of represented
artists. They will exhibit internationally. Hence, by nature of how that works, we will be known as the only gallery in Brighton. They, the only artists. Under this capitalist model of art distribution we shall do as we please. Nobody will do anything about this. I expect no resistance. You are a pushover. Like shooting fish in a fucking barrel. You will continue to Rot in apathy. Sway in the languorous chat of your pubs and universities. Drunken halfwits limply grasping at their haplessly formed thoughts. FROTH: YOU HAVE NO CLEAR VISION TO EVER MAKE GOOD. We had only to step over your weakness to discover the doors were wide open. There for the taking.
