John Field (Dublin 1782- Moscow 1837) is generally credited with being the inventor of the piano nocturne. 
A memorial to the victims at Auschwitz, Dies Irae was first performed in Auschwitz in 1967. In Penderecki´s Oratorium the text is borrowed from both historical sources, suchs as the Apocalypse and Aeschylus’s Eumenides, as well as from poems by Aragon, Broniewski, Valéry, etc. Contemporary texts were translated into Latin, whereas the texts from Eumenides were translated into Greek.

Mzwakhe Mbuli, the “People’s Poet,” was born into a poor Zulu family in Sophia Town in 1959. In 1966, the town was bulldozed and the Mbuli’s family, which included seven brothers and sisters, was forcibly removed to Soweto. Mbuli’s training in traditional mbube singing came from his father, who often took him to long mbube sessions conducted by workers. He also attended local and school based theatre groups in addition to other Zulu dance and music events throughout his youth.

Sound of Confusion was the first studio album by Spacemen 3 and was released in July 1986 on Glass Records. Four of the seven songs are cover versions: "Hey Man", "Rollercoaster", "Mary Anne", and "Little Doll".

FANNY HILL was the follow up to 1971’s “Charity Ball” release. Recorded at Apple Studios in late 1971, the album features producer Richard Perry’s best work, even though Fanny was not thrilled with some of his additions (like brass and strings to some of the songs). Several of the songs on the album had the potential to become successful single releases for the band, but again, the marketing of the band fell flat, as well as radio station program managers still not accepting the band’s music. https://fannyrocks.com/the-music/fanny-hill/
Charlie Parker on alto sax, Red Rodney on trumpet, Al haig on piano, Tommy Potter on bass and Roy Haines on drums. This gig, recorded at New York´s St. Nicholas Arena in 1950, was recorded on a home tape recorder.
